Labour Registration System
Digital registration, credentialing and verification of foreign workers on one secure, configurable government platform.
Foreign worker registration requires more than collecting personal information. Authorities need to reliably connect the person, their passport, their biometric identity, their employment data and their current registration status — and keep that link trusted over time. The Labour Registration System holds all of it in one authorized record, from the first online registration to every later verification in the field.
- The Person
- Their Passport
- Biometric Identity
- Employment and Registration Data
- Registration Status
From initial online registration to subsequent verification: one trusted digital link.

Core platform capabilities
Digital Registration Portal
Online self-service registration, configurable around the personal, employment and supporting data required by the responsible authority.
Automated Passport OCR
The passport data page is uploaded once. Printed data is extracted automatically into the registration fields, with no manual re-entry; the applicant reviews the result and corrects any misread character.
MRZ Reading and Validation
The Machine Readable Zone is parsed automatically: structure and check digits are validated, MRZ data is compared with OCR data, and inconsistencies are flagged for review.
Live Face Verification and Enrolment
Liveness detection and a 1:1 match against the passport portrait. Following successful verification, the facial biometric is enrolled into the authorized database used for IDMETRIX ABIS identification.
Central Registration Record
Personal, passport, biometric, employment and status data, together with portal data and system history, maintained in one authorized record — one source of truth.
Registration Number / Reference
Each registered worker receives a unique registration number or reference linked to their digital profile. It can be delivered electronically and retained on a mobile device.
Verification in the Field
Labour inspectors, government officers and other approved users confirm who the person is, whether they are registered, which official record belongs to them and what their current status is.
Role-based Access
Each officer, inspector or authorized organization sees only the categories of information permitted for their role — identity data, passport details, registration status or employment-related information.
Configurable by Design
A configurable technology platform, not a fixed one-size-fits-all product. The responsible authority defines the rules; IDMETRIX provides the technology to implement them within one coherent platform.
The complete worker identity lifecycle
One technology foundation carries the worker from passport to trusted record. Automated data capture and validation reduce manual entry, improve data quality and flag inconsistencies before a record is created.

Verification when and where it is needed
Registration creates the trusted record. Verification makes that record operational for labour inspectors, government officers and other approved users in the field. Every check answers four questions.
- Who is this person?
- Is this person registered?
- Which official record belongs to them?
- What is their current status?
Regardless of the method, the objective is the same: connect the person being checked with the correct authorized registration record.
- Officer mobile / web application
- Facial capture
- IDMETRIX ABIS database search
- Match established
- Registered worker record
No QR code. No physical card required: the worker’s face locates the digital registration record.

One platform. Three deployment models.
The same core registration process — digital registration, passport OCR and MRZ validation, facial biometrics and the central record — supports three deployment models. The responsible authority selects the one that fits its regulatory, operational and security requirements, and can extend from one to the next.
1 · Biometric Digital Registration
Facial recognition is the sole identification modality, powered by IDMETRIX ABIS. An officer captures the worker’s face in a mobile or web application; the search of the authorized facial database locates the registered worker record, and the officer receives the information authorized for their role. No QR code and no physical card are required.
2 · Digitally Signed VDS Credential
A Visible Digital Seal (VDS) issued as a protected, portable QR credential. It is digitally signed with a certificate issued under the Ministry of Labour’s Certificate Authority, so the origin of the credential can be verified and any unauthorized modification of the signed data is detectable. VDS data content is configurable per project.
3 · Physical Worker Credential
A plastic ID card or smart card, where required by legislation, with visible identification information and optional machine-readable or electronic functionality. It is issued from the same registration platform and backed by the same central digital identity record.
